    • first, there is no 11.5 certification yet. its all based your level of understanding in QTP. There are various changes from QTP 10 to 11, you will need to get the knowledge about those and some hands on.

    But having query for one the questions :

    “You can not split an action and the options are disabled when :
    1.An external action is selected.
    2.Working on a Read only test
    3.the first step of an action is selected.
    4.recording a test
    5.None”

    What should be the answer for the above question as I got wrong answer when I selected 1,2 and 4. Please clarify, if possible.

  9. Function mynum
    munb=”123″
    end function

    myn=mynum
    msgbox myn
    msgbox typename(myn)
    msgbox isNull(myn)

    if (isNull(myn)) then
    msgbox “Null”
    else
    msgbox “myn”
    end if

    answer for this code is empty so in msgbox we can have else part answer

    • Hi Senthilkumar, sorry but could not get your question.
      I assumed, the question is – why the code is getting into “Else Part” and returning “myn” even if the value for myn is empty.
      the answer is the value for the variable myn is “Empty” not “Null”. in the code you are trying to check whether the variable is Null or not. Which it will return false and so it is getting into else part.

      I understand, Null and Empty is confusing. here is what can differentiate the two. EMPTY is defined as a variable with an un-initialized value, whereas NULL is a variable that contains no valid data.

      replace isNull with isEmpty in your code.
      Function mynum
      munb="123"
      end function

      myn=mynum
      msgbox myn
      msgbox typename(myn)
      msgbox isNull(myn)

      if (isEmpty(myn)) then
      msgbox "Null"
      else
      msgbox "myn"
      end if
